Fast NEO Asteroid 2010 RX30 Caught by GRAS Telescope

NEO asteroid 2010 RX30 flew past Earth early on Wednesday and two GRAS users based in Italy had already set themselves up to catch it.

At 12:45 a.m. (USA)  Mountain time, two amateur astronomers and experienced GRAS Drivers based at the Italian Remanzacco Observatory, namely Ernesto Guido and Giovanni Sostero controlled the new GRAS-011 20” CDK remote telescope in Mayhill, New Mexico.

At its closest approach, 2010 RX30 was about 154,100 miles from Earth, timing it perfectly, they captured four separate sub exposures of 30 seconds, then created this animation you see here.
