The GRAS Telescope Network ihas undergone some major changes and upgrades inline with our current Southern Observatory initiative and its place in international remote astronomy.
The name ‘GRAS - Global Rent A Scope’ has been replaced along with a new logo and a fresh website to match. We are now iTelescope.Net
Many new and powerful features will be introduced to further improve the service and value to our members:
- A New Support Desk & FAQ
- New Website
- Member Forums
- New Direct Payment System
- Improved User Plan Options & Change Over features
- Code Improvements within Telescope Interfaces
- Improved GIS ‘LaunchPad’ Telescope Login & Info interface
- New Telescope “Imaging Time Only” Rates!
- Self Service Support - Telescope Points Return System!
Our Mission will also change in subtle ways. We anticipate more professional involvement with institutions and astronomers the world over due to the large expansion into the southern hemisphere.
Several new telescopes are being prepared to be added to your network soon along with more to be based in Australia once our new location is completed. (March of 2012). Telescope, Mounts & CCD hardware orders have already been placed.
The ‘new’ GRAS will be a gateway for amateur and professional remote astronomy online. More science and more groundbreaking services for its members and the astronomy community in general.
We also introduced the opportunity for investment in the future GRAS, and the response has been overwhelming to say the least. We thank all those that responded so generously.
All the GRAS members of the past and the present, have created THE BEST publicly accessible Remote Telescope Network on this Planet. Congratulations to you all and we know the adventure will continue and expand your horizons in Astronomy!
